Chronicles make the record of the personnel action. No matter how little time there is to get it in writing, and no matter how many other needs must be met in any given day, a chronicle is indispensible. A record is vital many personnel actions: for example, a dismissal, the disposition of a claim of harassment, or establishing the content of a job. Whether on hard copy or in digital form (most of your personnel related documents should be on both), a chronicle can make the difference if you wind up at the EEOC or in a courtroom.
A juror's eyebrows will go up if a termination is administered with zero - or just inadequate - paperwork.
